Trading Places

I plan to post here on Lifelines every Monday. Some posts may be humorous but all will be insightful. I hope you find this blog inspiring and entertaining, perhaps finding a nugget of wisdom to help you in days to come. In the right sidebar you can sign up to follow the blog and never miss when a new post goes up. Also in the right sidebar you can join my mailing list and receive my newsletter, which has a book giveaway in each issue.

"It’s easier to have the vigor of youth when you’re old than
the wisdom of age when you’re young
."  –Unknown

Wisdom does come with age. We all have been young once upon a time. We’ve even been teenagers and probably thought we knew it all.

I suppose wisdom comes in part from personal experience and in part from experience with our environment—surroundings, peers, books. And those experiences sometime take a lifetime to accumulate.

 "Youth is a wonderful thing,
What a pity that it is wasted on the young
."—Oscar Wilde

When we’re young we have almost limitless energy, quick
reflexes, boundless enthusiasm, good joints, hardly any aches and pains, resilience, and all our mistakes are ahead of us not behind us. What we don't have is the wisdom to use all those things to our best advantage.

I hear folks say, “I wish I could be twenty again and know what I know now.” Or, “If I'd known then what I know now…”

Would you trade places with a younger you?

If you could share a piece of wisdom with your twenty-year-old self, what would it be?
